COVID-19 Virtual Trainings

Advantage Health Now provides culturally tailored trainings to enhance COVID-19 related education and outreach efforts to Black-serving organizations.

COVID-19 Health Education and Outreach Services

Seven nonprofit organizations and microbusinesses demonstrate expertise delivering culturally-tailored strategies to reduce health disparities among the Black Long Beach community.

Outreach and engagement may take place in trusted community sites such as grocery stores, barber shops, places of worship, beauty supply stores and salons, and schools. Partnering organizations navigate and connect community members to various services, including but not limited to, COVID-19 testing and vaccinations, childcare and child supports, older adult services, food security supports, health care enrollment, unemployment benefits, mental health services, housing supports, workforce development, and more.

COVID-19 Healthy Living and Resource Guide

Elite Skills Development developed a digital and hard copy “Black & Well Healthy Living Guide” to provide culturally tailored information to mitigate the risk, transmission, and spread of COVID-19 to Long Beach Black residents.

COVID-19 Care Package Delivery Service

Eight nonprofit organizations and microbusinesses coordinate and disseminate COVID-19 care package delivery to Long Beach Black residents at risk of COVID-19 infection such as older adults and those with pre-existing conditions. COVID-19 care packages may include hand sanitizer, gloves, meal delivery, face coverings, thermometers, disinfectant wipes, personal hygiene supplies, and nutritional support.

Over 800 care packages delivered

Over 500 youth backpacks delivered
